About Guilded AI.

Guilded AI is building tools, processes, and partnerships for expert data production in the AI ecosystem.

Operating model

Guilded AI's primary mission is to help AI builders source training and evaluation data from experts. We scope the data need or evaluation question, identify contributors whose judgment fits, and design a production process around the use case.

We are developing processes for data quality that draw on social science, computing, and institutional design, with the goal of transforming specialist knowledge into useful, inspectable data assets.

We also help experts create valuable data proactively and partner with organizations that already have data they want to bring to emerging data markets.

Current stage

Guilded AI is an early-stage organization. We are building the contributor network, developing our methodology, and building relationships with AI labs, enterprise AI teams, research organizations, expert communities, and data-holding institutions.

Team

The Guilded AI team:

Heather Mellquist Lehto, PhD

Matt Prewitt is a leading expert on a fair data economy, lawyer, technologist, and writer. Formerly the founding President of RadicalxChange Foundation, his work has focused on organizational design and governance structures to remediate power concentration. He has led several research teams on the shared control of information and helped pioneer the idea of Data Coalitions.

Nick Vincent

Nick Vincent

Nick Vincent is a computer scientist and researcher working at the intersection of responsible AI, human-computer interaction, and the data supply chain behind AI technologies. His work has focused on data labor, data attribution, and digital knowledge curation, including how people and communities create the data that AI systems depend on. His research informs Guilded AI's approach to provenance, contributor rights, and healthier data markets.

Expert network

Our contributors are not taskers. They are specialists with credentials that matter: researchers, clinicians, attorneys, engineers, academic scholars, humanists, and field leaders with rare practical knowledge.

Processes are designed to respect expert time, support contributor autonomy, and give experts real long-term incentives. As the network develops, our goal is for contributors to be invested partners in the value they help create, not interchangeable contractors.
